McGregor vs Poirier fight purse at UFC 264: how much money will they make?

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirer are set to face each other for the third time at UFC 264 in Las Vegas on Saturday, 11 July, with the score tied at 1-1.

McGregor took victory when the pair first met in September 2014, with the Dubliner winning via a technical knockout in the second minute of the first round. Over six years later, the Diamond finally had his revenge in January at UFC 257, knocking McGregor out in the third minute of the second round after having particularly targeted the Irishman’s legs.

But McGregor — who was admittedly taken by surprise by Poirer’s legwork in fight 2, which left him with a badly swollen shin — will undoubtedly be ready for any similar tricks should his opponent opt for another leg-focused strategy when they meet in Las Vegas at UFC 264. No doubt Poirer will be aware of this, meaning he is likely to have some other tricks up his sleeve, while versatile McGregor will surely have a few of his own.

Poirer and McGregor go into the fight with respective records of 27-6-0 and 22-5-0. The Diamond is seeking his third straight win after his most recent victories over Dan Hooker (June, 2020) and McGregor (January, 2021), while the Notorious, who has had only one fight over the past two and half years, is looking to avoid back-to-back defeats for the first time in his UFC career.

Poirier vs McGregor 3: Payouts

It is difficult to get confirmation of the exact ps on what McGregor and Poirer will earn from the fight as the promotion does not officially disclose purse payouts. But McGregor will reportedly receive guaranteed purse money of $3 million along with a 60% share of pay-per-view (PPV) revenues.

It is estimated that the 32-year-old Dubliner is in line to earn around $10 million in total from the fight, including guaranteed purse, PPV revenue share, sponsorship and performance bonuses. Not a bad payday for the Notorious, whose estimated net worth is $200 million

Meanwhile, Porier will reportedly earn a guaranteed purse of $1 million and 40% of PPV revenues. Including guaranteed purse, PPV revenue share, sponsorship and performance bonuses, estimations are that the Diamond will pocket a total of around $3 million — a huge sum for a fighter whose net worth is estimated at between $2 million and $4 million.
