David Beckham’s Inter Miami project has failed to take off. Once again, the Florida team has missed out on the playoffs, and in their four seasons as an MLS club, they have only qualified once.
Despite bringing in Leo Messi in July, the Argentine star did not have enough time to lead Miami to the playoffs. Beyond the Leagues Cup title (the first in the franchise’s history), there are other expansion teams that at least in MLS have been more successful than the side now led by Tata Martino.

St. Louis FC, the last team to arrive in MLS, finished top of the league’s Western Conference. LAFC only needed two seasons to win their first title, the Community’s Shield after collecting 72 points in 2019. Austin FC reached the Western Conference final in their second year in the league.
