The NBA’s In-Season Tournament continues tonight with the third day of group play. Kicking off the festivities is an intriguing clash between the Toronto Raptors (6-7, 2-3 away, 7-6 ATS) and Orlando Magic (8-5, 3-2 home, 10-3 ATS) at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, at 7:10 pm ET.
The promise Orlando showed during Paolo Bachero’s rookie season last year has developed into full-fledged optimism during the team’s 8-5 start to this campaign. Oddsmakers give the Magic a slight edge tonight at home.

Despite Orlando sitting two games up on Toronto in the standings, the Raptors own far better NBA Eastern Conference odds (+6650 versus +13750).
Orlando is seeing far more of the money bet on Tuesday’s game. As of 11:30 am ET, the Magic were getting 63% of ATS handle and 81% of moneyline handle in the NBA public betting splits.
Orlando Returns Home After Three Straight Road Wins
Orlando’s recent four-game road trip started with an ugly 124-104 loss to Brooklyn but culminated with three straight Ws (two at Chicago, one at Indiana). While Banchero leads the team in scoring (18.7 PPG) and rebounding (6.8 RPG), the Magic are thriving because of their depth. Including Banchero, six different players are averaging at least 11.4 PPG, including former #1-overall pick and current reclamation project Markelle Fultz (11.4 PPG, 4.0 APG), though the Washington product is currently out with a knee injury and won’t feature in today’s NBA lineups.
It was that depth that led Orlando to Sunday’s 128-116 win at Indiana as 4.5-point underdogs. Banchero’s team-high 24 points were supplemented by five other players with 13 or more.
At 10-3 against the spread, the Magic own the second-best ATS record in the NBA (tied with the 76ers), trailing only 11-3 OKC. Their +4.5 average margin of ATS victory is fourth-best in the league.
Both forward Franz Wagner (18.5 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 3.1 APG) and guard Jalen Suggs (12.4 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 2.8 APG, 2.1 SPG) are among the top-15 favorites in the Most Improved Player odds.

Toronto’s Barnes Becoming Bona Fide Star
One of the players Wagner and Suggs are trailing in the NBA MIP odds is Toronto’s Scottie Barnes, who is the second-favorite to Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey. The third-year pro leads the Raps with 20.1 PPG on 47.8% shooting, including a career-best 39.4% from three. (Barnes was under 30% from three in his first two seasons.) The 6’7 wing is also grabbing a team-high 8.9 rebounds for the somewhat undersized Raptors. Seven-p Jakob Poeltl is the only Toronto player over 6’8 who’s played a minute this season, and he only manages 25.6 MPG.
The Raptors managed to stem a two-game losing streak last time out with a 142-113 rout of Detroit at home. Pascal Siakam had a team-high 23 in the win as seven different Raptors scored at least 12 points.

Player props and odds from DraftKings on Nov. 21.
Tuesday’s NBA player props list Toronto’s Pascal Siakam with the highest point total over/under in TOR vs ORL at 21.5. Banchero and Franz Wagner are both listed at 18.5 for Orlando. Only Raptor guard OG Anunoby (2.5) has a made-threes O/U above 1.5, though he’s a +130 underdog to hit the over.
Raptors vs Magic Prediction
The narrow spread here means oddsmakers aren’t fully buying into Orlando’s hot start. I’m more sold. Their biggest issue is rebounding (27.3 contested rebound percentage, fifth-worst in the league), but Toronto isn’t much better in that category (28.0, seventh-worst). And while Toronto is 3-2 on the road this year, they were a dreadful 14-27 last season, including an 0-2 mark in Orlando (113-109 on Dec. 9 and 111-99 on Dec. 11).
Toronto vs Orlando pick: Orlando Magic -2 (-110)
